DEAN BROWNROUT ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE REPRESENTATION OF PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINT WORK OF MARION FALLER
Sept. 1, 2016—Buffalo, NY—Dean Brownrout Modern/Contemporary is pleased to announce the exclusive representation of the photographic print work of Marion Faller (1941-2014).
Faller was a photographer and professor of studio photography and photographic history. She taught at Colgate University, Hunter College, Marymount Manhattan College, and, from 1982 to 2006, at the University at Buffalo.
Says Dean Brownrout, “The addition of Marion Faller to our roster is a logical outgrowth of our representation of the photographic prints of her husband and artistic collaborator, Hollis Frampton. Faller’s own documentary work, often depicting cultural traditions and totems, affirms her standing as an important American artist.”
Faller exhibited widely in her lifetime. Her photography is included in the permanent collections of the Addison Gallery of American Art, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, George Eastman Museum, and the Walker Art Center.
In late 2012, Faller donated 199 of her photographs and supporting ephemera to the Burchfield Penney Art Center. The museum now serves as the institution of record for her photography.
